Meet the Team
I was born in Accra, Ghana and spent my first 16 years there before moving to continue my
studies in the U.S. I am now a fourth year student at Wesleyan University studying
Economics and French. I also spend a great deal of time working on building JóòMah,
designing the interface and working with Geofrey, Ola, Yinka, Will and Rebecca to come up
with an amazing strategy to bring about positive change all over Sub-Saharan Africa.
Working on JóòMah has taught me a lot about entrepreneurship and what genuine problem
solving means to an increasingly globalized but economically developing Africa.
I am a sophomore majoring in Computer Science and French at Wesleyan University,
Middletown, CT. I plan to also go to engineering school at Columbia University after I
complete my studies at Wesleyan in 2016. I joined JóòMah because of the hope that it
brings in the future of employment in my country Kenya and on the African continent. It is
a vision that will give equal opportunities to job seekers to get the jobs that they are
rightfully qualified for and eliminate the culture of 'knowing someone on the inside'. I
hope to be part of this revolution and to contribute to the growth of my community and to
the growth of the economy of Africa.
Hello! My name is Olayinka Lawal and I am a self described "African Development Advocate".
I was born in Lagos, Nigeria and moved to the United States at the age of 10. Since high
school, I have engaged myself in activities and projects that allow me to explore this
interest and develop myself into a better advocate. My biggest interest lies in building
human capital across the continent of Africa and my position as West and Central Africa
Lead Business Strategist for JóòMah really encourages and allows me to address my passion
in the best way possible. Outside of trying to help the people of Africa reach and exceed
their maximum potential, I love to read, dance, act, and watch movies.
I am one of JóòMah's web developers, working to create an easy-to-use portal for social
connectivity. I believe in clean, simple design and intuitive user interactions.JóòMah
is a fantastic way to make important, positive connections between employers and
potential employees, and I am thrilled to be a part of the JóòMah team. I am currently
completing my computer science major at Wesleyan University.
I am an energetic and outspoken young woman eager to bring change to everywhere I step my
foot. I am a lover of the arts and a proponent of all things innovative. My favorite
pastime is watching Yoruba movies (mo ki yin o) and jollof rice has a special place in my
heart. As a Nigerian woman, I have always wondered what I do can improve the landscape of
my country. JóòMah showed me how. I always say entrepreneurship drives the world. I have
experienced firsthand the power it has to effect change. Thus, I am more than honored to
be one of JóòMah's founders.
I am a senior at Wesleyan majoring in Economics and Government. I have worked in
investment banking at J.P. Morgan and Credit Suisse along with experience in investment management.
I bring a strong business and finance background to the team and am excited to continue
growing JóòMah into an essential resource for millions of African job candidates and employers.
I speak Mandarin, Taishanese, Russian and German. In my spare time I enjoy playing poker and
Settlers of Catan.
I am one of the lead developers for JóòMah. My goal is to deliver a website that caters
specifically to the needs of those in Africa who have been under served by the existing
population of job finding websites. JóòMah is a fantastic way to bring efficiency and
ease to the job finding process, and will allow employers and job seekers the ability to
find the workers and work that is right for them. I am a Computer Science and Mathematics
double major at Wesleyan University, class of 2016.
